Acne is truly the EASIEST skin condition to heal, unless you follow the stereotypical recommendations

“Healing acne without topical products, supplements, or medication!”

For my point of view, based on my 30+ years experience in holistic and natural healing, keep reading…

  • Save Your Money.

My experience over the last 30+ years has proven that supplements can contribute to acne and hinder the healing process.

Yes, this includes the ones that have labels that claim to be good for the skin. Don’t believe all of the hype.

And please stop believing all of the self-proclaimed experts and social media influencers - - they are just trying to win a popularity contest.

  • Unnecessary.

There are 12 types of acne and typically 1 acne product line offered by skin care companies.

    Acne will heal without products.

Daoist Chinese medicine recognizes 120 skin types, so a cookie-cutter approach is a great way to set everyone up for disappointment and failure.

Every client MUST be treated as the individual that they are, always.

  • Location. Location. Location.

The 12 types of acne manifest for different reasons. Each type and location have a very specific meaning.

Unfortunately, this crucial information is NOT taught in medical schools or esthetic schools (the reason I started my school - to help holistic practitioners understand the body on a more comprehensive level so their clients can achieve better, lasting results).

Also, extractions (the fancy word for picking, popping, and squeezing zits) do NOT set the body up to heal --they actually cause more problems that we don’t need. I do NOT believe in doing them.

Definitely contributing factors for so many people who struggles with acne.

  • Dermatology's Opinion.

From a dermatology perspective, they like to treat acne as an infection due to p.acne bacteria and they use a IV stage diagnostic system.

My experience has shown when patients follow this type of protocol ~ inflammation increases, the skin becomes thin and compromised, and the acne typically gets worse.

If a protocol helped, but the acne came back…you didn’t fix the problem.

From a Daoist Chinese medicine approach, I completely disagree with this methodology.

My philosophy is do no harm and work with the body, don’t fight it.

The body ALWAYS tells us what we need, we just have to listen to what it is saying.

  • Esthetics Industry's Opinion.

The Esthetics industry also buys into the p.acne theory and IV stages of acne, but it also teaches that the body’s cellular turnover is too slow, the body’s oil production is a contributing problem, and the zits (they like to call them by fancier names) must be “extracted” for the skin to heal.

I completely disagree with this approach as well.

In reality, cellular turnover is an internal mechanism and topical products will not change the speed of this internal system, acne is not caused by oil - oil is an indication that one of the body systems is out of balance.

Extractions actually slows the healing process very significantly and can actually create many more problems than benefits.

Every single client who has transferred to my care from a dermatologist or esthetician was given the wrong products and treatment which led to disappointing results.

The wrong products and services will take the body and skin further out of balance.

  • Every Type Of Acne Is A Clue.

The body always tells us what’s wrong and what it needs to restore balance and function.

Acne is very easy to heal, but you must understand what the body is telling you.

Just because your child and their BFF have similar acne, it doesn’t mean it’s there for the same reasons - which is the reason a product or treatment helped one person and not another.

  • Stress.

Everything can be broken down into 3 types of stress: chemical, physical, and emotional.

Stress isn’t going away, so we need to learn better coping skills to manage and minimize the impact on the body and the skin.

Certain types of acne are caused by stress and the emotions. Grief is the root cause of one particular type of acne.

Can you name a skin care product that addresses grief? I can’t, but I know a few that can cause it.

  • Food Matters.

The foods and drinks we consume are the foundation for creating red blood cells.

They are the building blocks for regeneration.

There are 120 body types and 120 skin types recognized by Daoist Chinese medicine.

There are specific indicators that tell us when acne is the result of food.

Not all teen acne is the result of dairy products, only one specific type.

Likewise, not all cystic acne is caused by hormonal changes. Certain types of cystic acne are the result of diet.

On a side note, Google My Business has been holding my page hostage since I moved from McKinney in April 2024.

Teen Acne Plano is a program offered by MV Skin Consulting.

And…good old Facebook keeps putting me in FB jail. Their latest shenanigans are keeping me from creating a new account. Apparently they can’t handle my truth and myth busting ways.
